1. General Information
ReceiptSplit ("the App") is a mobile application developed by Adam Drojewski, operating as "DEVCOD", based in Białystok, Poland.
This Privacy Policy describes how the App processes data on the User's device.
The Developer is not a data controller under GDPR, as no personal data is collected, stored, or accessed by the Developer. All data is stored exclusively on the User's device.
2. Data Processed Locally on Your Device
The App processes the following data exclusively on your device:
Receipt Data
- Receipt images (captured with the camera or imported from your photo gallery)
- Items, prices, tax, and tips parsed from receipts
- Metadata (date, merchant name, totals)
Participant Information
- Names of people sharing expenses
- Contact details (email, phone — optional, from iOS Contacts with your permission)
- Item assignments to participants
Payment Information
- Payment handles (Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, Revolut usernames — optional)
- Payment records between participants
Device Information
- Device name (used for the default participant name)
- Locale settings (used for currency and language defaults)
None of this data is sent to the Developer's servers.
3. Data Sent to Third-Party Services
The only case where data leaves your device is optional AI receipt scanning:
- A receipt image is sent to an AI service to recognize items and prices
- Data is processed in real-time and is not stored by the service provider
- No personal user data is transmitted — only the receipt image
- Processing occurs via an encrypted connection
- You can opt out of AI scanning and use manual entry only
Third-party service providers:
Receipt data may be processed on servers outside the European Economic Area. These transfers are protected by standard contractual clauses maintained by the service providers.
4. Apple Services
- The App is distributed via the Apple App Store
- Apple may collect analytics and crash reports according to its own policies
- You can opt out of sharing data with Apple in iOS Settings

5. Payment Apps
The App can generate links to payment apps (Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, Revolut). These are simple URLs — no data is shared with these services. The App does not process any payments.
6. What the Developer Does NOT Collect
- The Developer does not maintain user accounts
- The Developer does not collect analytics data
- The Developer does not use tracking tools or cookies
- The Developer does not profile users
- No data is stored on the Developer's servers
- User data is not shared with third parties (except for the optional AI scanning described above)
7. Data Storage and Deletion
- All data is stored locally on the User's device
- The User has full control — view, edit, and delete data directly in the App
- Deleting a receipt or participant permanently removes that data
- Uninstalling the App with its data permanently deletes all stored data
8. Children's Privacy
The App does not require registration or an account. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If a parent or guardian believes their child is using the App inappropriately, please contact us.
9. Changes to This Policy
The Developer may update this Privacy Policy. Changes will be communicated by:
- Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
- For significant changes, displaying a notice in the App
